Monday 2/27

Monday, February 27th

Bell Ringer:
1. Complete the Word Connotation activity in Google Classroom.
2. Turn it in when you’re done.
3. Begin reading the Wireless Operator’s Story attached to the Unit 5: Activity 4 assignment in Google Classroom

What we're doing today:
1. Bell Ringer
2. Community Time
3. Mini-lesson: Review RI.6.6

-When you are supposed to find the author’s point of view, what are you really finding? (1st-person, 2nd-person, 3rd-person. … or something else?) Tell your shoulder partner.

-With your table group, discuss the two things we look at in order to find the author’s point of view (perspective/feelings/thoughts/opinion on something).

4. Activity:
-Read the Wireless Operator’s Story attached to the Unit 5: Activity 4 assignment in Google Classroom. You may read on your own, with a partner, or popcorn read with your table group.

-Look at Ms. Britton’s examples of answering what an author’s point of view is, and how the author conveys/shows that point of view to the reader.

-Then, complete the bottom box of Unit 5: Activity 4 with your shoulder partner and/or others at your table group. Turn in the assignment when you are finished.

-If you finish before class time is over, read a choice book SILENTLY by yourself or free write.

***Please don’t make any foolish decisions. Ms. Britton is at school today, and Ms. Brogan can call her to come up to class at any time. ***

Homework: You should finish and turn in any classwork that was not finished in class. If you've been absent, you need to catch up! Everybody should read a choice book.
